Dementia Detection and Caregiving Challenges in the Black and African American Communities

This virtual presentation was a no-cost learning opportunity for providers, healthcare professionals, people living with dementia and caregivers. Participants learned about the disparities in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's diseases and other dementias, and caregiver challenges in Black and African American communities.

Program Objectives

  • Discuss the disparities with Alzheimer's disease in Black and African American communities
  • Describe the experiences of Black and African Americans who are impacted by dementia and their care partners
  • Identify resources and behavioral techniques for people living with dementia and their care partners
